Offal is a permitted ingredient provided it is accurately labelled on the food packaging.

Two snapshot surveys (2014 and 2019) have both revealed that undeclared offal is present in some retail meat products and it is suggested that further surveillance is needed to ensure that customers and retailers/manufacturers are protected from this type of fraud (see attached for details).
