31273294692?profile=RESIZE_710xThe Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Food Standards Scotland (FSS) have published new guidance from the FSA’s Cell-Cultivated Products Sandbox, covering regulatory authorisation, growth media and toxicology assessment.

As cell-cultivated foods develop, questions around product identity, composition, traceability and verification will be important considerations.

FAN has previously highlighted FSA research examining analytical methods for cell-cultivated products. The latest guidance forms part of the wider programme of work to support businesses developing these products and preparing applications for market authorisation.

Read the new guidance and access further resources about novel foods and emerging technologies that require market authorisation through the FSA’s Innovative Foods Guidance Hub.
