A customs operation in Greece led to the siezure of 21 tonnes of untaxed ethanol intended for the production of contrabrand drinks. The consignment was carried by a Serbian distribution company and had originated in Bulgaria. This was an intelligence-led operation started by the Bulgarian customs authorities. The cover load was nominally windscreen wash but investigation revealed that the destination company was fictitious.
