12926651257?profile=RESIZE_584xThe last decade has witnessed significant advances in analytical technologies for food fraud detection. This evolution has been mirrored in terms of the capabilities and availability of portable Point Of Contact (POC) technologies, but a lack of harmonisation and guidance in this sector has precluded their universal adoption.

This free online seminar, based on Food Standards Agency project FS900408 “Guidance for Point of Contact Technologies”, will present results from a current review of the potential for POC technology for food testing for official controls and the wider food sector. It provides an overview of key terms, technologies, trends and barriers, concluding with a set of recommendations to further develop a framework to support Point Of Contact food testing.

Speakers from the National Measurement Laboratory at LGC:

  • Dr Malcolm BurnsHead of GMO analytical unit and Senior Scientific Advisor (Principal Scientist) for Food Authenticity testing.
